Down House, Nr Biggin Hill, Kent

Located in Luxted Road in the village of Downe just off the A21 near Biggin Hill, Down House was the home of Charles Darwin "father" of the theory of evolution. Open Wednesday to Sunday between 11am and 5pm, from 1st April to 31st October and 11am to 4pm during November, December and March. Down House is closed from 17th December to 29th February. Admission, £7.20 adults, £5.40 concessions, £3.60 children under 16, £18 family ticket. Free admission to children under 5 and members of English Heritage. Full wheelchair access. Refreshments, toilets parking and a gift shop are avialable on site.
